My daughter Tiffany and I joined Christ Church in 1990. We became active members shortly. Tiffany became an acolyte, a member of the choir and a member of the youth group and later became a Girls Scout leader. I joined the Altar Guild, the Thrift Shop, and later, the choir, and the Stewardship Commission where I served as the Chair for three years. I am also a member of the Christ Church global mission team, with four trips to Juarez, Mexico and two trips to Haiti.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Risk Management from Georgia State University. After 33 years at General Reinsurance, I retired as a Second Vice President--Claims Executive. While at General Reinsurance, I served on the Board of the Southeastern Claim Executive Association. I was the coordinator for General Reinsurance community service projects in Atlanta. Projects included Habitat for Humanity, The Hunger Walk, Hands on Atlanta, and The Atlanta Food Bank. In 1996, I was selected as a Torch bearer for the Atlanta Olympic Games as a community service leader.

At present, I am on the Board of Directors for Nicholas House. I have been involved with Nicholas House for the past 17 years. Every Monday evening, I can be found at Nicholas House, preparing and serving dinners to the residents as wells as mentoring and tutoring. Since retirement, I have been a part-time teacher at First Montessori of Atlanta. I love just about all sports, but I am an enthusiast for international sports such as soccer, tennis and cricket.

I am dedicated to helping others and improving the quality of life through service.

Formerly, he served as a member of the Advancing Authentic Leadership Program Leadership Team (AAL) for four years and co-chair of the Pentecoastal Celebration event in 2008. Walt has facilitated various church community meetings. As a member of the Men’s Group, he has supported many other church events.

Personally, Walt & Betsy have been married for 25 years, and have two sons living in California with one very cute granddaughter. Professionally, Walt was a management consultant for 30 years focusing on strategic planning and organization change. He now pursues one of his passions as a wine consultant, selling wine and conducting wine tastings.

Joyce and her husband, Ed, joined Christ Church in April 1995, after moving to the Duluth area. Neither were raised in the Episcopal Church, but joined in 1986, while living in Georgetown, South Carolina. They have been married 30 years and have one daughter, Hailey, now 27. Hailey was active in the youth group of this church and was fortunate to be able to travel on one of the pilgrimages. Ed participated in the Bethel Bible study several years ago.

Joyce has a Bachelor's Degree in the Science of Nursing from Vanderbilt University. Ed is a cardiologist, practicing in the Gwinnett area.

Joyce has been a Stephen Minister since 2001, serving for many years in a leadership role. She is also a member of the Altar Guild, serving on Sundays and Wednesdays. She currently participates in the Wednesday bible study and in earlier years took the Bethel Bible Series.

Being elected to the Vestry would allow her to serve in another role in this church community and help support the goals and ministries of Christ Church.

My wife, Julie, and I have been members at Christ Church for about three years and we have been involved, individually, with different groups.  Myself with the Choir and the Christ Church Players and Julie with the St. Monica's Group.  We have found a great fit for our family and our spirituality at Christ Church.

I was born in Peru in 1981 and have been living in the states since 2000. In my early adulthood, I attended Law school at a private university in Lima from 1998 to 2000, when I decided to leave Peru to look for a better future.  For the past 10 years I have worked in two corporations holding financial positions, in the automotive and asset recovery markets. I attended GA Perimeter College in 2007 and obtained a certificate in Accounting which helped me further develop my financial career.

In September 2011, I decided to leave the corporate life and concentrate in moving forward with my own company: SB Tech Solutions, a company dedicated to offer IT services to small businesses and home users. The market is tough, but I have never turned away from a challenge. Everyday is positive new outcome.  I serve as Director of Development at LatinSuccess, a non-profit organization dedicated to uniting the United Stateswith Latin America via an exchange program called The Leaders of the Americas.  I am a member of various brainstorming and development groups mainly focusing in lending my financial and technical skills and expertise.

I am ready to serve the One that has made all these things possible in my life, and what better place than here at Christ Church Episcopal.

A “cradle” Episcopalian, Dana grew up attending St. Mark's in Dalton, GA, where she was involved in many activities from youth choir up to high school mission trips. She came to Christ Church in 2001, after attending her cousin’s wedding ceremony here. She began to feel more connected by participating in the Advancing Authentic Leadership course and volunteering at the Thrift Shop. Dana has been a Youth Group Leader (J2A), Lector and a part of the Coffee Hour group. She is also actively involved with the Flower Guild, Refugee & Resettlement Immigration Services of Atlanta Committee (RRISA), Stewardship Commission, St. Monica’s Guild, Spanish classes, and is a Lay Eucharistic Minister.

Dana works at Saint Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta in Procurement.
